The Cus Bologna Finishes the European Championships with Four Gold Medals

Betty Vuk in judo, Giuditta Carlini in taekwondo, the women's volleyball team, and the women's basketball team all took the top spot on the podium. But also, Ayoub Sadid won bronze in taekwondo, the men's basketball team placed fourth, and Daniele Gasparri secured ninth place in judo

A year ago, the team brought home three gold medals with Betty Vuk, the women's volleyball team, and the men's basketball team. Along with a bronze in women's basketball. This year, we achieved four golds—thanks to the ever-reliable Betty Vuk, the powerhouse women's volleyball team, and new champions Giuditta Carlini in taekwondo and the women's basketball team. We also won bronze through Ayoub Sadid (taekwondo), secured fourth place in men's basketball, and took ninth place with Daniele Gasparri (judo).

Europe called, and the University of Bologna answered. And in the best way possible, showcasing individuals and teams selected and assembled with care. These athletes, often part of the dual career project, manage to excel in both their academic and sporting pursuits, thanks to the foresight of the University of Bologna.

Indeed, the joy for Unibo is twofold: the successes come on the field, yes. But these are young people who, other than constantly training, are dedicated to studying and achieve both their athletic and academic goals. Betty Vuk, besides being a judo queen, has completed her bachelor's degree and is now pursuing her master's. And let's not forget Pippo Ricci, a basketball champion in 2017 at Miskolc (the first European title for Cus Bologna) and now a mathematics graduate.

Great news comes from judo and taekwondo, as well as from team sports where the University of Bologna and Cus Bologna excel. Listening to the athletes speak after their victories reveals the reasons behind their successes. For ten days (more or less), they lived like professionals in Miskolc, focusing solely on their games. And wearing smiles on their faces.

Thus, the University of Bologna remains at the top. After their successes, they will enjoy a few days of vacation. Then they'll return to their studies, because the laurels won at the EUSA European University Championships in Miskolc require confirmation. And this means many new exams and then graduation. The University of Bologna is always there.
