The University of Bologna welcomed Fadi Issa, VR Laboratory Manager at the An-Najah National University in Nablus, in the West Bank, during the month of May, as part of the PACE – Palestinian Academic Capacity-building & Mobility in Education project.
Promoted by UNIMED – Union of Mediterranean Universities, PACE was established to strengthen the academic and institutional capacities of Palestinian universities through mobility programmes, research and specialised training.
Founded in 1991, UNIMED is one of the leading academic networks in the Euro-Mediterranean area and today brings together 179 universities and research centres across 25 countries. It fosters research, education, and scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation throughout the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, the Western Balkans and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The University of Bologna, an active member of the network since 2007, reaffirms its commitment to training, skills exchange and support for academic communities across the Mediterranean, while also promoting the university as an inclusive and welcoming environment for people studying and working in contexts of conflict and instability.
During his time in Bologna, Issa had the opportunity to exchange knowledge with colleagues, gaining further insight into methodologies, tools and practices related to the development and management of virtual reality laboratories.
