The University of Bologna moves up 15 places and reaches 123rd place worldwide (and third place nationally) in the new edition of the QS World University Rankings. This result confirms a steady upward trend: over the past five years, the University of Bologna has climbed 43 places in the international ranking.

The QS ranking now includes 1,504 universities worldwide, based on an initial selection of over 8,800 universities from 106 different countries. The University of Bologna is now in the top 10% of the best universities in the ranking, and once again confirms its place in the top 1% among the more than 26,000 universities worldwide.

In the ranking’s most significant indicator, Academic Reputation, the University of Bologna is 66th worldwide and second nationally. In addition, it ranks 65th in the world (and third in Italy) for International Research Network, the indicator that assesses the breadth and diversity of collaborations in the field of scientific research.

The University of Bologna also records a strong performance in the Citations per Faculty indicator, which measures the impact and quality of universities’ scientific activity: compared to last year, it has climbed 66 places. And it has moved up by as many as 78 places in the International Students indicator, confirming the University of Bologna’s steadily growing international appeal.

Another strong result comes in Employer Reputation, where the University has climbed 18 places. The indicator measures employers’ perceptions of the quality of a university’s graduates.

At the national level, the University of Bologna is in third place for the employment outcomes of graduates and for its commitment to sustainability.
