The University of Bologna in collaboration with the National Coordination of Architecture Libraries (CNBA) launches the initiative “Bring a Plant to the Library!”, a green project open to all registered users that aims to make the study environment healthier and more comfortable. Those who join the initiative by bringing a plant to their study spot and taking care of it will receive a one-year free subscription to the digital magazine “Bioarchitettura”, a benefit that combines ecology and culture.

The initiative was carefully planned during a recent meeting in Bologna involving Raffaella Inglese, President of the CNBA, Angelo Mingozzi, an engineer in the Bioarchitettura Foundation, and other sustainability experts such as Giuseppe Meliti of the University of Lugano and Professor Beate Weyland from Bolzano, who emphasised the need to create educational spaces that promote well-being.

To implement the initiative, a collaboration was established between the DA Makers Lab (Laboratory of Materials) of the Department of Architecture, which will produce bioplastic plant identification labels, and the Botanic Garden and Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences, which will provide technical support, ensuring that every participating library is equipped with the necessary maintenance tools.
