Patrick Zaki and the Italian Minister Maria Cristina Messa to attend the inauguration ceremony of the 2021-2022 A.Y.

Rector Giovanni Molari will open the first academic year of his term of office. Among the guests: the Italian Minister for University and Research Maria Cristina Messa and Patrick Zaki online from Egypt

The inauguration ceremony of the 2021-2022 A.Y. will take place Saturday 26 February at 10.45AM in the Aula Magna Santa Lucia (via Castiglione 36, Bologna). This year marks the 934th year since the University was funded. On this occasion, the University will welcome two distinguished guests: the Italian Minister for University and Research, Maria Cristina Messa, and our fellow student Patrick Zaki, who will participate online from Egypt.

Following the greetings of Rector Giovanni Molari and the Minister, a representative of the University technical-administrative staff will address the audience. Afterwards, student representatives of the University of Bologna and, finally, Patrick Zaki will address the gathering. While awaiting the trial of our student arrested on 7 February 2020, the University of Bologna will continue to work to focus attention on this issue – as it has been doing for two years – until Patrick is free to return to his beloved university.

To attend the ceremony, it is required to wear a FFP2 mask and show the so-called “reinforced Green Pass”. Entrance by 10.30AM. It is also possible to watch the live stream of the inauguration ceremony on YouTube.
