The University of Bologna, in 2024, is opening its doors to university members and local communities, offering walking tours and engaging in casual yet colloquial discussions in the spaces acquired or granted to the University.
The next appointment is set for Saturday 16 March, and features a visit to Palazzo Malvezzi Campeggi, built around 1500 by Andrea Marchesi Di Pietro, known as the Formigine, by the will of Cesare Malvezzi. The palace is an elegant example of Renaissance architecture and is currently the headquarters of the Department of Legal Studies.
A Saturdayeach month, the calendar includes guided tours to promote the history of the Convent of Santa Cristina, Palazzina della Viola, Palazzo Hercolani, Villa Guastavillani, Palazzo Dal Monte and Aula Magna Santa Lucia. Today, these places serve as lecture rooms, offices, or simple passages, often unnoticed and unknown even to people who regularly go there.
Frescoes, sculptures, architectural elements will reveal the names of their commissioners, artists, and the meanings behind their creation. These events provide a platform to showcase the university's beauty and extend the invitation to all those eager to explore its wonders.
