The Department of Cultural Heritage launches a photo competition focused on cultural heritage

The initiative is open to anyone living in Ravenna. Which pictures best capture Ravenna's rich cultural legacy? Anyone who lives in the city is welcome to tell us about it through a photographic competition designed and promoted by the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Bologna - Ravenna Campus. The material collected will be selected by a jury, and the images considered the most significant and expressive of the city’s cultural heritage - both physical and intangible (such as knowledge and traditions) - will be exhibited in the Darsenale spaces as part of a temporary exhibition

The exhibition will be inaugurated on 3 October at 7:00 PM at the Darsenale. Following this, during the event scheduled for 21 November at 7:00 PM, the winner of the photo contest will be revealed and awarded. The cycle of Scientific Happy Hours will conclude with a panel discussion on the theme of cultural heritage as a means of dialogue between peoples and cultures.

The initiative was presented during a Happy Hour entitled Tra memoria e presente: immagini e dialoghi sul patrimonio culturale (Between Memory and Present: Images and Conversations on Cultural Heritage), which involved professors and researchers from the Department in a dialogue with the public. The aim was to foster a shared reflection on how cultural heritage, with its transformations over time, is connected both to the past and to contemporary life.

To enter the competition, simply access the form at the link and fill in all the required fields, following the instructions. The deadline for submitting entries is 30 September 2024.

The initiative is organised within the framework of the RESTART - Resilience and Territorial Development, Heritage at Risk and Protection projects (funded within the framework of the University’s initiative Alma CaReS - Climate Change, Resilience, Sustainability) and SIRIUS - Strategies for the management of cultural heritage at risk (active in the PNRR PE05 CHANGES - Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for the Next-Gen Sustainable Society).
