Today, the Academic Senate of Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna approved, after extensive and in-depth debate, the following motion:
a) that the University of Bologna discontinue all formal relations and collaborations with Israeli universities, institutions and companies, without prejudice to existing research projects that cannot be classified as dual use, and that it not initiate any new ones;
b) that it further promote and concretely implement the statements approved in the resolution of 17 June regarding the creation of a genuine culture of peace, also by actively collaborating, in addition to other Italian universities (and within CRUI) and international ones, with civil society organisations (NGOs, agencies, national and international associations, etc.) that promote and carry out non-violent initiatives for justice, peace, reconciliation, human rights, and the full cultural recognition of peoples;
c) that it make a tangible contribution to the reconstruction of the educational, school and academic system at all levels of the Palestinian State, with a view to mutual intercultural enrichment and in line with the foundational constitutional values of our academic community.
