University of Bologna mourns the passing of Pope Francis

The University of Bologna joins the world in mourning the passing of Pope Francis, who was awarded the Sigillum Magnum of the University on 1 October 2017.

On that occasion, the Pontiff highlighted the role of the University as an institution “called to seek what unites,” describing it as a “centuries-old crossroads of encounters, dialogue, and relationships."
