This Conference, organized for the first time in Europe, is the fifth in a series of topical meetings sponsored by the American Nuclear Society that were planned with the purpose of bringing together scientists and engineers from around the world who share an interest in radiation and radioisotope measurement applications. The first four conferences were organized in North Carolina, USA (1988, 1992, 1996, 1999) showing a consistent international participation. Attendees will have opportunities to share ideas having to do not only with industrial uses of radiation and radioisotopes but also with basic research and applications in related fields such as medicine, art and archaeometry, environment, analytical techniques, and new trends in sources and detector development. The interdisciplinary topics are listed below. The official language of the conference is English.
