International PhD seminar Uncovering Gender Discourses

The seminar will address how feminist and queer rereadings can unearth representations of gender identity, political positioning and sexuality that may seem alien and/or contradictory when confronted to the explicit intentions of a text. As such, it will investigate how the takes on reading provided by feminist criticism, gender studies and queer studies may be useful critical tools for resisting established gendered discourses, as well as for queering texts.
