K&C Reading Seminars "Foundations for a Theory of Embodied Mind"

The K&C Reading Seminars, organized by Ph.D students and Post-Doc Researchers, are research meetings based on reading and discussing classics in cognitive science and philosophy of mind. This year, the series will focus on two milestones for the embodied, enactive and phenomenological turn in cognitive science: the 1991 book "The Embodied Mind: Cognitive Science and Human Experience" by F. Varela, E. Thompson, and E. Rosch (Italian translation to be released by Astrolabio Ubaldini in 2023) and the 2008 book "The Phenomenological Mind" by S. Gallagher and D. Zahavi (Italian translation by Raffello Cortina Editore, 2010).

During each session, a scholar will introduce the day's thematic content, providing a personalized reinterpretation while articulating their own insights on the subject matter. This will be followed by a rigorous discussion centered around the scrutiny of the book's chapters.
