Dear Colleagues, dear Students,
As the festive season approaches, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you.
Once again this year, the University of Bologna has fulfilled its role with responsibility and dedication, confirming its ongoing commitment to teaching, research and the third mission. This has been made possible by the professionalism and passion of all its members, driven by a shared determination to act at all times in the interests of the institution and of the society it serves.
We are closing 2025 with the approval of a budget that demonstrates our ability to plan effectively and use public resources responsibly. We have faced the accreditation visit with full awareness, demonstrating our capacity to work together towards shared goals. We have continued to strengthen our policies in support of students, academic and research staff, and professional staff alike, fostering an inclusive environment that recognises and values everyone’s skills. Our continued focus on the quality of our programme catalogue, support for free and independent research, and attention to occupational, environmental and social sustainability remain central to our work.
All of this is made possible by the collaboration between the University’s Governing Bodies, Departments and all its structures, and by our shared and proud awareness of the fundamental role we play as a place of education, scientific development and civic growth.
With this spirit, we will continue to work in the years ahead to further strengthen the University of Bologna and its cultural and social contribution in Italy and around the world.
