The award ceremony took place on Sept 23rd at the Fondazione Cini in Venice. Enrico Sassoni, Senior assistant professor at the Department of Civil, Chemical, Environmental, and Materials Engineering of the University of Bologna, who led the project, received the award.

The Jury of the prize, awarded within the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards, noted that: “The HAP4MARBLE technique is replicable and is being tested on a large scale in various locations. There has also been a positive social impact from this project with outreach being undertaken to communities and stakeholders outside of the research community”.
