The University of Bologna opens its doors to students with the evening events “Babel Nights”

Four evening events in via Zamboni 38: a language tandem to improve foreign language skills, get to know different cultures up close, and make new friends. This is the first of a series of initiatives aimed at opening the classrooms of the university beyond regular lecture hours

The University of Bologna opens its doors in the evening to welcome students in the university area of Bologna. From Wednesday, 8 May, from 7 pm to 10 pm, via Zamboni 38 will host the Babel Nights, a series of evenings for language and cultural exchange.

Four appointments, on Wednesday evenings, designed to bring together students from around the world, both Italian and international, and offer them an opportunity to improve their knowledge of foreign languages.

The classrooms of via Zamboni 38 will host a series of language tandems – between English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and more – allowing participants to improve their knowledge of foreign languages, get to know different cultures up close, and make new friends.

Babel Nights are the first in a series of evening initiatives planned by the University of Bologna for the upcoming months, offering a fresh way of experiencing university spaces beyond regular lecture hours.

The different language tandems are open to both beginners and experts and will also feature a series of interactive activities. Thanks to the participation of many international students, they will also be an opportunity to share and celebrate diverse cultures and learn customs and traditions from around the world. But above all, Babel Nights aim at being a meeting place to share common passions and interests and fostering new friendships.

Organised in collaboration with ESN Bologna, the four evenings are scheduled for Wednesday, 8 May, Wednesday, 15 May, Wednesday, 22 May, and Wednesday, 5 June, at 7 pm, in via Zamboni 38. Participation, open to all students at the University of Bologna, is free with online registration.
