Saturday 25 May and Sunday 26 May will be a "Diverdeinverde" weekend. The event is now in its tenth edition, and it is organized by the Fondazione Innovazione Urbana Rusconi Ghigi, to open the hidden gardens of the city's historic centre.
Two days to discover the secret and hidden gardens in the splendid palaces of Bologna's senatorial and patrician families, as well as in popular housing, with some excursions into the foothills in places of exceptional panoramic value and the suburbs. Many of the spaces have already been opened in the past, but a few new ones are added this year, offering their full charm, including the recently rearranged garden at the 18th Century palace on Via Centotrecento, home of the Collegio Artistico Venturoli.
This year, the Botanic Garden and Herbarium of the University of Bologna is also participating in the event, opening its doors for free throughout the weekend, from 10 AM to 6 PM (last entry at 5:30 PM). Additionally, on Saturday 25 May at 11 AM, visitors can join a walk in the Botanic Garden to discover the favourite flowers of pollinating insects, accompanied by researchers from the LIFE4Pollinators project. Participation is free and open to all.
To participate in the Diverdeinverde initiative, a personal entry card can be purchased for €12, granting access to the privately opened gardens, guided tours, and preview events. Children under 13 enter for free.
Students aged 14 to 18 and university students can purchase the entry card at a reduced price of €9 in advance at eXtraBo and during the event at three gardens with a sales point. University students must present a valid university ID at each garden entrance.
