CNU. CUS Bologna ends the National University Championships with 27 medals

11 gold, 11 silver and 5 bronze medals. Two of the team gold medals are the most coveted: men's basketball and women's volleyball

CUS Bologna started by immediately winning a gold medal. It closed the event with Eleonora Mazzocchi (black belt, 55 kg) winning a bronze medal in karate. CUS Bologna took part in the National University Championships (CUN) in Campobasso, collecting honours and acclaim, enriching the medal collection of the University of Bologna.

Unibo is a leader also in sports. This is demonstrated by the successes achieved by the team that has brought honour and pride to CUS Bologna.

27 total medals made their way to Via Zamboni 33, the beating heart of the University. There were 11 gold, the same number of silver and 5 bronze.

What's more: CUS Bologna won two of the most coveted team golds, in men's basketball and women's volleyball. In men's volleyball, the appointment with the gold medal was postponed, but only slightly, as Riccardo Not's team took the bronze.

Then there are the numerous achievements in tennis, led by Alessandro Vitti. There are the triumphs in judo (Betty Vuk of Dojo Equipe is confirmed as the star, having also won the European title last year) and taekwondo. Then there is fencing, athletics, table tennis and, yes, karate.

CUS Bologna tops the national medals table. Now, along with men's basketball and women's volleyball, who are also defending champions, they are preparing for the international event in Miskolc, Hungary. This is where the fairy tale of the CUS Bologna baskets began, with a young Pippo Ricci (now at Olimpia Milano and back from three consecutive championships) playing a leading role.
